 The Lord’s Prayer is a prayer of community

1.       The Lord’s Prayer is a model of balanced prayer

2.       The Lord’s Prayer brings us into the presence of our earthly Father

3.       The Lord’s Prayer brings us into the presence of the majestic God of the universe

4.       The Lord’s Prayer invites us to reverence and hallow the name of God

Study Questions

1.       Jesus invites us to pray using “our, us, etc”.  How does this change the way we pray?

2.       How do we hallow God’s Name?  In what ways do we not hallow his Name?

3.       The Lord’s Prayer first addresses God, then invites our petitions.  How might this inform how we pray?

4.       The Lord’s Prayer affirms God as our earthly Father, and as the Lord of the Universe.  What does this mean for us?
