Don has a deep love and passion for God's Church. For the first 20 years of his adult life, Don was a farmer. It was during those years that God nudged him toward ministry and provided many opportunities to learn and serve in various leadership roles in his local church and community and in the broader MB community. Returning to school as an adult with a young family, he completed his BA and MA at the Universities of Lethbridge and Calgary. After completion of these degrees, Don stepped in pastoral ministry.
Over the past 25 years, Don has pastored at the Selkirk Community Church in Manitoba; at King Road MB Church in Abbotsford; and currently at Clearbrook MB Church in Abbotsford. Don and Lou have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. Don loves to spend time at his daughter and son-in-law’s farm every fall steering a combine around the fields and soothing that deep-veined farming itch.
Denis Federau has a passion for the Lord and serving his church, which has been developed through a rich history in organization and ministry work. Following his marriage to Doris and a move to Canada from his birthplace of Asuncion, Paraguay, Denis worked in various construction jobs for 18 years. During this time, the Lord began to nudge him to consider ministry. This began a journey of education along with church and conference ministry, beginning with the completion of a BA program from Columbia Bible College, followed by 4 years as pastor of Nechako Community Church in Vanderhof, BC. While there, Denis pursued his Master of Christian Studies with the MB Seminary. Since 2016, Denis has served the BCMB Conference as the Director of Resource Ministries. Denis’ passion for Christ’s Bride has challenged him to pursue his Doctorate in Church Revitalization. He hopes to complete this pursuit by the end of 2024.
Denis and Doris enjoy hanging out with their 3 beautiful daughters and he likes to dabble in woodworking in his spare time.
Fred showed a keen interest in music since his early childhood. At age 12 he got his first taste of choral singing when he was allowed to join an adult choir in the alto section.
Pursuing musical studies only became possible in his adult life. Studying at MBBC under Dr. William Baerg, John Martens and other music and theology teachers helped to tighten some gaps in his education he longed to have filled. These studies were instrumental in setting life’s direction and focus. Except for short interruptions, choral conducting and leading congregations to sing in passionate worship have been part of his life ever since graduation from College.
Most of Fred's music making was done as a volunteer, while providing bread for his wife Hani, three sons and one daughter was earned in construction work and business ventures. Now as empty nesters, beside work in the church, Fred & Hani take more time for home and yard work, enjoy their 7 grandchildren and do some traveling. Fred still enjoys physical work on projects at home. His experiences on the farm early in life and some cattle ranching later in life still tug at his heart.
Ray Harris is a follower of Jesus, a husband, father of three grown children who are married and all live in the Fraser Valley, and Papa to their eight grandchildren. He is a pastor, musician, a reader, writer, and enjoys walking and riding his e-bike. He holds graduate degrees in music and Christian studies. His work at Clearbrook Church is primarily in pastoral care, visitation, grief support, end of life ministries as well as creating content for the TV ministry. Ray and Corinne have made Abbotsford home since 1988. Corinne is an educator, serving 17 years in the Abbotsford School District and 15 years at MEI. They love to spend hours with their family, including their six siblings. They enjoy travelling in beautiful British Columbia and seeing other places in our Father’s world.
Ingrid Stahl is a committed follower of Jesus, wife to Werner, mother of 3 sons and now 3 daughters-in-law and a loving Grandma to 6 grandchildren. She feels very blessed to have them all living in Abbotsford. Ingrid has many years of experience and a deep love of walking with and encouraging women in the joys and challenges of life.
Ingrid has rich history of education and experience having studied nursing in Germany, then worked for a year in an OR specializing in sports injuries, followed by 3 years at Bibelschule Wiedenest, Germany. After moving to Canada following her marriage, Ingrid got involved in ministering to women in her neighborhood and local church. This heightened her awareness that more education would be beneficial, so she has completed a Diploma in Caregiving/Counselling at Columbia Bible College, trained and volunteered with Telecare Crisis Line, completed internships with Victim Services; as Spiritual Care Intern at our Abbotsford Hospital; and with MCC’s “When Love Hurts” program. Following all of these experiences, the call to ministry intensified and Ingrid enrolled in ACTS Seminary into the chaplaincy program, graduating with a Masters in Christian Studies / Chaplaincy. Following this Ingrid served as part-time chaplain at Tabor Court, Valhaven Care Home, and Menno Place. She retired in August 2022 and continues as a casual chaplain at Menno Place.
